Happy Father's Day!

On June 5 Thomas and I had our first anniversary. In the first year we learned so much about each other and ourselves. We became parents and a family. I love my husband now more than ever and can not wait to see what is to come.

Today is Father's day and everyday Thomas becomes a better father than the day before. He has so much love for his little girl and it just gets bigger with everyday that passes. Thomas you amaze me in the love that you show to Elizabeth. I am so happy to be a part of your lives and love that I get to see you both bond and grow together. You are the best father that I could have ever asked for to be in my daughters life. I am so proud of you and everyday you impress me even more. I love you so much and love our life together.

Chicago, Mother's Day and More...

Man we have been busy! Elizabeth turned six months old and Dr said she is "a-okay" Duh! She has made it into the 2 percentile for height so we were excited she graduated from the 1 percentile!! She is growing perfectly for her and since she was a preemie she is smaller everywhere than other babies her age. This can be seen every play date we have. She has a friend Vivienne who looks like a giant next to Elizabeth and Matteo who has just passed her on the growth chart and both are many weeks younger than my little Elizabeth.

So the first week in May we took our first family vacation! We flew to Chicago for a weekend trip. It was great since the flight wasn't too long and it is close enough that if anything happened we could be home quickly. I was nervous about the flight, but of course my sweet girl did amazingly. She cried for about 10 seconds on the way there just to tell me she was tired. On the way back she cried for about 30 seconds because it was way past her bedtime and it took a little longer to get her to sleep since she wasn't in her bed. We had so much fun! Elizabeth got tired of being carried around in her car seat so the last day and a half she got carried around in the Moby. Elizabeth also had a couple of first while we were there. She got to go swimming and sat in a highchair all by herself! She is such a big girl now!

Since I am not great at keeping things in order here is just a bunch of pictures from our trip. Enjoy.

This year was my first Mothers Day and it was amazing! I got to spend the whole day with my family and got treated like a queen. It was nice to be reminded that I am appreciated for all the little things I do.

Elizabeth is becoming such a big girl! She is trying to crawl but only scoots backwards. She is getting to the point that she knows where she wants to go but when she figures out she isn't getting there she gets mad and starts to grunt and whine. Even though it's funny to watch I feel so bad for her. Now she is acting like she is just going to give up on crawling and try to walk. She gets on her hands and knees then does (as Thomas calls it) her downward dog yoga and puts one foot in front of the other. Gates and baby proofing are underway for sure.

Yes she scooted to the point she got wedged between the ottoman and her high chair. So funny.

She has started giving kisses and luckily the camera was right next to me the first time she decided to give them and it was super cute!

Spring has come!!

Elizabeth loves discovering her new functions of her legs and arms. Right now she LOVES to stand and stomp. We spend a few minutes everyday building her arms and legs. Today she actually pushed up on her hands and knees for a few seconds. Once again it being one of her first I sort of freaked out when it happened and scared her a little. I really need to learn how to silently freak out.

Here is Elizabeth working those fat rolls off. I hope they don't get worked off too soon because I love those things!!!

So the weather has finally gotten nice enough to be outside!! I love putting a blanket in the backyard with Elizabeths toys and just watching her play. She loves the grass! It is like a new toy to her. The first time I stuck her toes in the grass it was great to see her question what it was then curl her toes in the grass blades. Now when she gets near the grass she just leans over and starts pulling it up. I just love watching her!!

This last weekend we got to take a fun family field trip to Loose Park and the Plaza! It was great! We were going to put Elizabeth's toes in the Plaza fountain but the stinkin water was still ice cold so no little tootsies in there yet! Elizabeth loved watching the ducks, fountains, and people at the park. She really loved the time she got to play with her daddy! Since Thomas is such a hard worker sometimes we don't get much Daddy time because he is literally up until 5 a.m. working. So needless to say when Elizabeth and I get to spend some time with Daddy we soak it up. She LOVES her Daddy!

Look how mischievious my sweet girl looks! She totally looks like she is going to do something bad.

Next post will be a good one. In a couple of weeks my little baby will be six months old and we will have her six month check up. We will also be taking our sweet baby girl to Chicago!!! So see you soon!

Man a lot has happened in a short time!

So a lot has happened in the last month for sure! I will try to remember it all. Unfortunately I am that mom that takes my camera everywhere but forgets to take it out and take pictures. So you wont be able to see a lot of it. Sorry for that.

I believe in the last post I told you all about the three teeth that Elizabeth had poking through. Well three then four at the same time. No more. Within two weeks of poking through they went back in. Not a single tooth is showing! I have read that this is somewhat normal and is fine but I hope something happens soon because she is in some serious discomfort! Yesterday, however, I did discover that she had a tooth poking through again. Once again it is not a front tooth it is the tooth just behind her left k9 on the top so we will see if this one stays out.

We have had some good food, conversation, and fun at all of our play dates but unfortunately I only have pictures from two. They are some good pictures though. Elizabeth has a bff already and she is the daughter to my oldest bff. It is so funny to see them together. They are already like my friend Nanthida and I. Nanthida has always been the person that can carry on a conversation with a stranger and her daughter Vivienne gabs away as much as she can. Elizabeth is like me and is the sweet, silent type. It is so fun to watch these two together. They take a bit to rediscover each other and see what's going on with the baby in front of them but then they are holding hands and lovin on each other. They are going to be good friends!

Another one of my good friends let us tag along to the Crown Center exhibit of the Fairy Tale Village. We had a lot of fun but again I forgot to pull out the camera. Well maybe this was one of those not so much forgetting as Elizabeth didn't let me finish getting ready so I didn't want photographic evidence. I stole this picture from her facebook page and it's the only one there is while we were there.
It was really funny to watch Jacquie's daughter Charlotte run around and check out all the stuff. Man she has already got her own personality and it's great to see more of it every time we see them. It makes me wonder what Elizabeth will be like when as she gets older. Jacquie also has a sweet baby boy Matteo and I joke that he and Elizabeth will get married someday. Never know. Matteo may be two months younger than Elizabeth but I am three months older than Thomas so who's to say. Matteo hasn't really been at the point of getting on the floor and rolling around yet but when he does I am sure he and Elizabeth will have some fun!

Since the weather has finally decided to stay warm we have been able to enjoy some fun outdoor time as a family. We got to go to opening day for the Royals. Although Elizabeth slept through half of it we still had fun!

We also got to enjoy some fun at Loose park. We were going to take Elizabeth and stick her toes in the fountain on the Plaza but the water was way too cold for that so we will have to wait for another day for that. Here are the pictures from those two fun days

Elizabeth has had many small milestones. It is like she is doing something new or better everyday. She is using her hands more, able to pass objects from one to another. She is exercising her vocal cords and seeing what sounds they can do which is really funny to watch because she has a different facial expression for all of them. She is seeing what happens when she pushes things away and pulls them to her. She looks for things that have fallen or people that have left. When Thomas leaves the room she yells for him to come back. She is actually eating solids instead of just squishing the food around in her mouth. There are many more little ones, but the big milestone that has come about in the last month is that she can sit up by herself. She still has to support herself with her hands but she can do it. She used to just lean over and support herself with her belly but that would just make her sick and she didn't like that much. Now when she starts to fall over she can catch herself with her hands and support herself. She is doing great!

I think that is about it for now. I will leave you with pictures of Elizabeth doing her favorite thing right now. Watching TV. Yes if she is upset you take her around the TV she finds it and she is fine. TV does make everything better. She is already a couch potato. See you next post!
